Although this has already been mentioned in brief, the boat club has been very successful in multiple funding applications (internal and external) so far this year. Many of these applications have come from hard work and determination from this years’ committee.
The largest application was the Sport England grant. We put in a bid of £10,000 to contribute towards a good second-hand 8+, and thanks to Alex Woolley’s hard work (amongst a few others) we were ecstatic to hear that we have been successful in our bid. We are now currently looking for a modern 8+ for both the Novice Men and Women, which can begin to replace the remains of our old and decrepit fleet.
The second success has been a £2,000 grant from the Rowing Foundation, which is to go towards a second-hand 4+. This has been backed up by a successful bid for a proportion of University…
